My utmost respect to Amouage for creating such complicated perfumes. In the same way I found Amouage Interlude and Amouage Beloved perplexingly beautiful, Amouage Bracken Woman goes in that same spot. As Anita noted, it has the half-life of weapons grade plutonium. It reminds me of something or a memory for like a second and then it turns. This is uniquely beautiful and not really like anything else I’ve smelled. She says, “the whole thing coalesces into what I can only describe as the smell that comes from bringing in florists’ carnations from the chiller and setting them in a vase along with garden Dianthus – it smells of carnation but only in that way that carnation smells of Spring.”

I read Anita’s review of Amouage Bracken Woman after I tried this like three times, hoping she would help me out, but no. But a great shoe leather pulled out of a great bog. Just about the time I want to stick it over in the floral with a funky and uniquely great dissonance, I get the leather and I guess bracken? Like shoe leather pulled up out of the bog. The birch is an unusual and discordant riff off of the florals.

I am trying to sort this into some olfactory category or another, and Amouage Bracken Woman is refusing to square up to go into that round hole.
